Simon Baring aka Si B Simon B Electreccentric other names include: Taosim, Seismic, Zomboy, Wigwam, Ominoise, Dreadeye Simon Baring is a fairly new name in this psychedelic sitcom. He's only 23 but has been fanatical about music since forever and the more underground stuff since he was 14. He has been writing music since he was 16, taking his time and refining his techniques. Never happy with mediocrity, he spends a long time polishing his tracks usually claiming that theyre never finished! He has written music of all genres but mainly along the lines of psychedelic and progressive trance and chill, house and breaks, warped stuff, drum and bass and even one hip hop tune! He has more recently been writing more down-tempo stuff along with some minimal and electro with one of his latest tunes being considered for the next Backroom Beats compilation on Twisted Records. Finding time to write music whilst working in this industry has proved difficult for Simon but he's getting there. Hes just putting together a new studio so we should be hearing some new sounds very soon. He was discovered by Ans from Nano Records in 2003 and proceeded to work for Nano Records and the Glade Festival until September 2005. After Glade 2005, he was hired by Twisted Records to help in the official capacities of running the label and supervised the organisation of the Twisted Label parties in March and October 2006 which were both huge successes with the October party being a sold out event. Having concentrated entirely on production he realised it was time to learn to mix and started getting behind the decks in early 2006. He got the bug and has picked it up fast playing his first set at the Twisted Label Party in March 2006. His reputation for playing good music and positive energy has seen him come along way pretty quickly with his mixing and selection still getting better every time! In December 2006 he was made an official Twisted DJ by the label owner, Simon Posford and he hasnt looked back since. Playing in Switzerland, America, Ireland, Hungary, Italy, Scotland and many more. He has a huge stockpile of music and a great ear for a musical journey including some Twisted goodies of course! He plays a variety of styles including Twisted Full On (140-145bpm), Progressive (133-139bpm), Minimal Techno, Electro & Breaks (123-133bpm) and Lounge, breaks and chill out (123bpm and below). Legions of rubbish could be written here, but I'll spare you... ;-) I had a pretty sheltered upbringing which I started to break out of aged 14. Now 23 and I have made my own path to where I am now and I intend to forge my own path for the future. I like to do things differently. I like to make improvements and find new veins of creativity to explore. I like to learn lessons for myself. Life for me is about figuring things out. I like to laugh, life is a Divine Comedy after all. You're either gonna laugh or cry! I enjoy the following: Music Production, Event Organisation, Recreational Drugs, Psychonautical Exploration, Psychedelics, Psychology, Religion, Philosophy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Cosmic Events, Life Experience, Literature, Films, Art, Yoga, Martial Arts, Juggling, Poi, Devil Sticks, Fire Staff, Sport (soccer, rugby, fives, squash, tennis, Biking (Motor and Pedal), Hiking, Climbing, Adventuring. Not to mention a bit of good ol' fashioned hedonism! (sex drugs and rock n roll!)
